Gel Nail KitsI want to share with you a few tips and ideas about applying UV Gel Nails at home. But first the advantage of gel nails is that you can apply them at any length you want. Either short or long. They can be squared off or rounded to meet your desire. Another benefit is that as your nails grow all you have to do is add some gel filling to keep your beautiful looking nails.

You want to start by having all your equipment and gel at your work station before you start doing your nails. The equipment should include a pick, cuticle clippers, an emery board, a UV lamp, and your Gel Nail Kit.

Begin by cleaning your nails and cuticles. Now you want to file your nails according to personal preference. Now you are ready to apply your first coat of gel to your nail. Experience has shown that applying several thin coats is much better that applying one thick heavy coat. We have also found that the thicker the gel coat the longer it takes to cure.

While you are applying the gel you want to keep the gel off your skin and do not let the gel overrun. If it does overrun you will have to pick the excess off without lifting the gel from the nail.

After you apply each layer of gel you want to cure it under your UV lamp for a couple of minutes to set the gel. Let the gel coat dry completely before you proceed with applying the second coat. Repeat the process if you want to apply a second and third thin layer of gel if you desire.

File the gel nail to the perfect desired shape. Apply a top coat layer and cure for 40 seconds to a minute. Use a cleaner to wipe your nails.

Now Your Transparent uv gel nails are finished and beautiful!

Here is a caution you need to heed with the gel. You want to keep the gel away from the UV Lamp light. You ask why. It is because the UV light will cause the gel in the jar to set which will make it unusualable. You also want to keep the jar of gel away from a window because the UV sun light will cause the gel to set. You really want to keep the gel away from UV light because it is expensive to replace a jar of gel. Keep in mind that gel on the brush will also set when exposed to UV light.

Placing gel over your natural nail will give it a shine that will not dull with time. Doing your own nails at home is a great way to go because you do not have to make an appointment at the salon, make arrangements to get their on time, find a parking spot, and wait at the salon if the technician is running overtime. With practice you will be able to do your own UV Gel Nails in about 30 to 45 minutes.
